Bug and Oils

                                          BUGS and OILS

After the long, cold winter, it's hard to believe Spring is here!

Soon our days will be filled with sun, fun, and...BUGS!

Don't let bugs ruin your outdoor plans. Oils make a natural, kid-safe repellant.

A great smelling bug and tick spray can easily be made using Purification.

Put 5 drops of Lemon oil and 5 drops of Purification oil and/or Eucalyptus oil in a 1-2 oz spray bottle of water. Mist your skin or clothes to protect against insect, flies, and mosquitos.

For an outdoor picnic, apply 1-2 drops on a ribbon or string and hang from the branches of a tree. The oils will diffuse into the air and provide relief from pesky bugs.

Remember...lemon oil can make you more sensitive to the sun, so cover up as well!

What if you already have an insect bite or a sting?

Essential oils can help with both antiseptic and anti-itch properties.

For bees, wasps, or hornets, use Purification or Eucalyptus. For ticks and mosquitos, lavender or Purification applied to the skin can help stop the itch and heal the skin. Use the oils full strength, or mix with olive oil and massage into the skin. You can also add 3-5 drops of oil to 1 oz water in a spray bottle and mist onto the skin.

Remember to use either a glass bottle or high quality, dark plastic bottle to prevent the oils from interacting with the plastic.
